These terms govern your use of the mobile application BasicNotes ("the App"), provided by Uğur Gülay ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App you accept them. Google Play's own terms also apply to anything you get through Google Play.
BasicNotes is a free, open-source to-do list application. It has no account, no login and no server of its own. Every task you create is stored locally on your device. What the App handles, and what it does not, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
The App is free. It contains no purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising. If that ever changes, these terms will be updated before the change ships.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you own or control.
BasicNotes is open source. The source code is governed by the licence published with the code; that licence governs the code, while these terms govern your use of the build distributed through Google Play.
Your tasks are stored on your device. We do not receive them, cannot see them and cannot recover them for you.
Clearing the App's data, uninstalling the App, or resetting or losing your device will permanently delete your tasks. There is no backup on our side and no way to restore them. Keep your own copies of anything that matters.
BasicNotes schedules reminders as local notifications on your device. Whether a notification actually appears is decided by your operating system, not by the App.
Battery optimisation, power-saving modes, "do not disturb", force-stopping the App, revoked notification permissions and OS updates can all delay a reminder or stop it firing. Reminders may also be lost when a device is restarted, restored or replaced.
Do not rely on BasicNotes for anything critical — medication, medical appointments, legal or financial deadlines, or any reminder where a miss would cause real harm. Use a tool built for that purpose instead.
We may update or change the App and its features. Support for older operating system versions ends as platforms move on. The App may be withdrawn from distribution at any time; copies already installed are not removed from your device when that happens.
The App's name and branding belong to Uğur Gülay. The source code is licensed as published with the code.
The App is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for lost, corrupted or deleted tasks, for reminders that did not fire, or for indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract, or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in.
