Data We Collect
HudSpeedo collects no personal information. There is no account, no email address and no registration, and the app operates no server of its own.
Location Data
Location access is used to calculate speed, distance, heading and ride path. That work happens on your device, and your ride history — every saved route, including the one drawn on the map — is stored only on your device and is never uploaded.
One feature does send requests derived from your location to a third party. It receives no ride history, no identity and no account information:
- Route maps. Opening the map for a saved ride requests map tiles for the area shown from OpenFreeMap, as any map application does. This reveals which area is being looked at.
Ride recording continues while the screen is off. On Android this runs as a location foreground service with a visible notification. On iOS it uses background location, for which the app asks permission separately.
Motion Sensors
Accelerometer and gyroscope readings are used to calculate lean angle and G-force in real time. This data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted.
Purchases
HudSpeedo PRO is a single one-time purchase. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Payment is handled by Google Play or the App Store, and the app never sees your payment details.
HudSpeedo uses Adapty to confirm that a purchase is valid and that PRO should be unlocked. Adapty receives purchase events and an identifier it associates with your installation. Adapty's privacy policy: adapty.io/privacy
Third-Party Services
These are the only services the app contacts:
- OpenFreeMap — map tiles for route maps
- Adapty — purchase validation
Advertising & Analytics
HudSpeedo contains no advertising SDKs and shows no ads. It carries no general-purpose analytics or tracking SDK. Adapty, described above, does record purchase events for revenue reporting; that is the extent of it.
Data Retention & Deletion
Ride history and your settings are stored on your device. Settings has an action that deletes your saved rides; uninstalling the app removes everything. There is no account and no server-side profile to request deletion of.
Children
HudSpeedo is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
